What is the difference between the DA29-00003G & the DA29-00003B-2?
Samsung orginally had one manufacturer(Aqua Pure) make there filter under a patent. As the patent has now finished other manufacturers have been licensed to manufacture this filter. The '-2' series is a USA made filter made to the same standards and offers a slightly better price.
What is the benefit of having a water filter in my fridge?
The DA29-00003B-2 for Samsung fridges filter removes the following impurities from your drinking water:

99% of Lead, 94-97% of Mercury, 99 of Asbestos, 90% of Benzene, 99% of P-Dichlorobenzene, 99% of Cysts, 99% of Carbofuran, 97% of Chlorine and 98% of rust, dirt, sand and sediment (0.5 to 1 micron in size).

It is reported to improve the clarity of drinking water by 99%.

The DA29-00003B-2
does NOT remove Fluoride.
Changing the filter regularly in your ice/water refrigerator also reduces the build-up of scale in your ice-making mechanism thereby reducing the need for costly services.
Overall, it provides better tasting and smelling water with improved clarity.
The DA29-00003B-2 cartridge is tested and certified to meet NSF & exceed NSF/ANSI Standards 42 & 53.
How do I install my new filter?
Installing your new water filter:

Twist the old filter a quarter-turn counterclockwise.

Pull the filter straight down and discard (the water will shut off automatically).

Push the new filter up into the fridge until it stops.

Twist the filter a quarter-turn clockwise.
- Reset your "change filter" light (if your fridge has one).
Resetting your "change filter" light:

Press
and hold the ice type(or moisture control) and child lock buttons (at
the same time) for 3 seconds - the light should turn green. Some newer
buttons require the power freeze and ice type to be pressed
silmutaneously.
Note:
If
you hold these buttons for longer, you'll cancel the reset process, and
you'll have to do it again. If this happens, just release the buttons
and start over.
