What is the benefit of having a water filter in my fridge?
The Aqua-Pure Plus Filter DA29-00012A removes the following impurities from your drinking water:
- Over 99% of Lead, 86-96% of Mercury, over 99% of Asbestos, 96% of Benzene, over 99% of P-Dichlorobenzene, over 99% of Cysts, 93-99% of Insecticides, 77-99% of various Herbicides, 97% of Chlorine and over 99% of rust, dirt, sand and sediment (0.5 to 1 micron in size).
- It is reported to improve the clarity of drinking water by 99%
- The DA29-00012A does not remove Fluoride.
Overall, it provides better tasting and smelling water with improved clarity.
Changing the filter regularly in your ice/water refrigerator also reduces the build-up of scale in your ice-making mechanism thereby reducing the need for costly services.

How do I install my new filter?
Installing your new water filter:
- Open "flip-up" door
- Push filter cartridge straight in until you hear a "click" - this releases the
- latch and allows the filter to be removed
- Pull the filter straight out and discard (don't worry, the water will shut off automatically)
- Push the new filter straight into the fridge until it "clicks" into place
- Run the dispenser for 5 minutes to flush the system and purge all of the air from the new filter - then discard that water
- Reset your "change filter" light (if your fridge has one)
Resetting your "change filter" light:
- Press and hold the reset button for 3 seconds - the light should turn green.
- Note: If you hold these buttons for longer, you'll cancel the reset process, and
- you'll have to do it again. If this happens, just release the buttons and start
- over.
